NACHO is a community orchestra for adult novice or intermediate musicians. Some of our members have no previous experience and have just learned to read music and play an instrument. Others played an instrument in high school and after many decades are enjoying a renewed interest in music. Some have substantial music experience but are now learning a new instrument. And some are quite accomplished, but enjoy the relaxed, sociable atmosphere and relatively easy pieces that our music director chooses.

At NACHO meetings you will learn how to follow the direction of a conductor and learn how an orchestra works together. Most members take private lessons to develop their proficiency, and then have an opportunity to practice newly acquired skills in the orchestra setting. Some members get their instructors to help them master their orchestra pieces.

NACHO is a social orchestra, we do not hold performances for an audience. We play for ourselves, for our own enjoyment and development. Sessions are designed to encourage conversation, friendship, and camaraderie.
