New Adult Chamber Orchestra (NACHO) | Member Login |
To become a member of NACHO, there is an annual fee of $30. Membership runs from January 1 to December 31, but if you join mid-year, we will pro-rate your fee for that year. The membership gives you access to the members’ area of the website, as well as voting privileges at the Annual General Meeting.
The NACHO year is comprised of 3 Terms:
Winter (January to March)
Spring (April to June)
Fall (September to December)
There is a fee for each Term (usually 10 - 12 sessions). The fees vary from $100 to $130 per Term, depending on the number of sessions in a given Term. Once you are a member, you can log in to the members’ area and register for a Term. After you have paid the fee for that Term, you will be able to download your music.
The orchestral pieces are chosen for each term well in advance of its start. This means that you will be able to download your parts and practice them before coming to the first session. If you find that a piece is too difficult, you may ask the Music Director for suggestions to make it easier. If you have a teacher, the two of you can adapt the piece to your level. Also, unlike groups that do performances, there is no obligation to attend all the sessions.
Each session starts with tuning and some warm up exercises. Then we play for 45 minutes, take a 30 minute social break where food, coffee and tea are available for a chance to interact with other members of the orchestra and then finish up with another 45 minutes of practice. |
Please complete the Information Form.
It is your opportunity to tell us about your expectations, the
instrument that you will play, and your experience. You will also be
able to ask questions of the music director or the executive before you
become a member.
In the unlikely event that we reach a maximum enrolment, we can offer the option of putting your name on a waitlist.
